New Joomla work
When starting on Joomla still makes sense.
Joomla remains a sound choice for multilingual sites, member-only content and directory-style listings that need access control out of the box. A team already fluent in Joomla admin may prefer to stay. In those cases its built-in features can replace several add-ons that other systems would need.
For most new business sites, however, WordPress has more themes, more developers and easier hiring. We say this openly, and only propose new Joomla work where its access model genuinely helps. Recommending against Joomla when it is not needed is part of giving advice you can trust.

Membership sites
Member areas, access and payments.
A membership website needs sign-up, tiers, protected pages and renewal reminders. Joomla can carry much of this natively, and payment handling can be scoped through a supported gateway with its provider’s fees paid separately. Ongoing gateway charges and any tax handling are listed in the scope so you can plan margins.
For a large subscription business with bespoke billing, a custom Node.js or PHP application usually serves better. The written scope explains where Joomla suffices and where it starts to strain. Moving up later is possible, and the written scope explains how members and content would transfer.
